I am 24 weeks this week but the latest picture I have is 23 weeks!  We just have a hard time remembering to take pictures.

I only have a few minutes to post this so I'll just write a bit...

My mom came to visit a couple of weeks ago and it was FUN!  And she bought me some badly needed maternity clothes.  Oh--and she cooked Salmon for dinner one night and I ate it!!!

I have been feeling great lately, except for that super nasty ear infection I had a few weeks ago.  They couldn't give me the numbing ear drops because I'm pregnant but at least I was allowed to take oral antibiotics to get rid of it.  It was soooo painful.  It took twice as long to clear out than it usually does.  I eventually discovered that chewing gum was the best way to relieve the pain.  Lately my feet have started swelling.  I'm going to try eating less sodium and drinking lots of water and see how that helps.  And of course put my feet up when I can!

John is reading "Husband-Coached Childbirth" by Robert Bradley and has really been learning a lot about what goes on during pregnancy and labor.  He even teaches me stuff that I didn't know!  So cool.

Anyway, I'll have to write some more about what we've been up to and post a picture of John's new super handsome hair cut.  (Speaking of hair, notice how long mine is?  I can't decide whether to sell it, donate it, or just cut 6 inches off.  I hope I can decide soon because the length is really bothering me!)

20-week Ultrasound

We're having a GIRL!

I would post the picture that proves it, but I want to save her from future embarrassment.  :)

Halfway There

20 Weeks!  I can't believe I'm here already.  A couple of months ago it seemed so far away.

Not much is new here, except my tummy has been growing a lot in the last couple of weeks.  I finally broke down and bought some maternity jeans at Old Navy and they are so comfortable it feels like wearing PJs.

I've been getting over my dependence on cream cheese and Kraft macaroni and cheese (did I mention that one?) and trying to eat healthier.  I read somewhere that the baby will be able to taste foods that I eat soon so it's for the best.  We have been having lots and lots of fruit lately.  John loves fruit so much and has been buying tons of it now that a lot of fruits are coming into season.  I have really been enjoying oranges and grapes.  I've also gotten over my aversion to vegetables (even broccoli!) so we've been having more of those as well.  Especially zucchini and green beans.  I really want to eat more beans and lentils... but I need some recipes.  Does anyone have any ideas? I really like my recipe for lentil soup but that's about it.

It seems like I haven't felt any baby movements yet, but I'm sure they're happening and I just don't recognize them yet.  I do at times feel a lot of gas bubbles down there, but I'm pretty sure it's actually gas!  (Sorry... TMI.)

Well, they say that colds are more common during pregnancy and boy do I have one now.  I had to cancel all of my babysitting last week after Monday and today I woke up with an ear infection in both ears.  I'm doing my best to stay healthy but I guess there's only so much you can do!  John told me the other day (while I was in the process of vomiting) that being pregnant is like having HIV--your immune system is weak and you get sick all the time.  I just have to remember how lucky I am that I don't have HIV... just a baby and that is WAY better!!!

Anyway, we are going to find out TOMORROW if our baby is a boy or a girl!!!!!!  I am so excited.  I have been looking forward to this day like it is Christmas.  Most people have guessed that it is a boy but on Thursday the midwife listened to the heartbeat and said that it sounds like a girl.  So we'll see!  What do you think???

This was at about 19 weeks
