don't worry

I'm not sure if I understand all of it.
but i liked it
i identified really strongly with what she was saying
if my left-brain would turn off
i would kill to feel that
can we?
how?
go where
leaving behind emotional baggage
i wish i could
maybe that the brain is amazing
and hard to understand
ok, here's what i think
some people live physical lives
yeah?
you get headaches like that
other people live isolated, internal lives of reflection
life of the mind
i think that part of what she was talking about was the power of bridging the gap
when you are stuck on one side
or
of realizing what's lost when you get stuck on one side
but also that it's just freaking amazing
total awe
at everything
i experience tinges of that sometimes
like i'll be driving down the road sometimes or when i used to hike up the mountains
and everything is so beautiful that i don't exist anymore
where my consciousness is obliterated by what i see
anyway
that's just what i felt from her
thought i should share it with you

I'm getting ready to try and have an unmedicated birth, and something I've read is that a woman's mind slips into this right brain mode at the peak of the pain in the midst of everything. This helps her deal with the intensity of the pain. They also say that at those very intense, indescribable moments, a mother feels connected with nature, with all other mothers who ever gave birth....so it was interesting to hear this lady talk about what it feels like to be totally in that brain hemisphere.
Whoa!! that's so cool, adele! I've been thinking about you lately, I hope everything goes well. I am soooo impressed that you are going for an unmedicated birth! Wow... that's all I can say. I'll pray for you!!
